First UK Wheelchair Dance Sport Championship:

The first ever United Kingdom Wheelchair Dance Sport Championship was held on Sunday, 21st November, 2010 in Rubery, Birmingham. Teams from Manchester, Southampton, Surrey, Essex and Devon competed during the day in Beginners Duo and Combi Couples and Improvers Duo and Combi Couples in both Adult and Junior categories. There were also fun competitions in the St. Bernard's Waltz and the Phrase Graize Mixer( or Cowboy Stomp) where the couples were made up of either combi or duo and were also made up from members of different teams dancing together and some from couples made up of a team member and a member of the public dancing together. It was a great ice breaker for the day and was also very popular and the competition was just a strongly fought as the rest of the true competition sections. Update: Royal Albert Hall, CANCELLING 5th June 2010

Due to emergency renovations to the venue of the competition, it is with regret that we have to cancel that date and competition. Apologies to all groups who were planning on coming to the competition. However, rather than cancel the event entirely, we are looking into a different venue and hope to host this competition in November 2010 in the Birmingham area. We will update the information as we get confirmed date and venue. Keep watching this space.

The third training course for people who want to become Instructor's of Wheelchair Dance Sport took place in Devon, England from 3rd January - 8th January, 2010. There were 10 trainees listed to do the training but, unfortunately, due to the Novovirus Lucy and Paul Breeze from Blackpool were unable to take their places on the course.
